Taking some easy tunes as a starting point, Kitty will guide you through the essential elements of good fiddle playing. Packed with practical tips and ideas to inspire your practice.

We'll be covering essential techniques such as playing in tune, confident bowing and how to make your fiddle sing.
Suitable for near beginners and more experienced players who want to sharpen their skills & play with greater flair.
The workshops will start at novice level on Monday and progress through the week. You're welcome to drop in for a single day or join at any point if you already have some experience.

... Look forward to meeting you!
If you'd like to prepare for the beginner workshops, the following warm-up exercises will help train your ears and fingers ready to learn the tunes.

Delicious Duets workshop at Sidmouth Folk Festival
All melody instruments welcome! The tunes are all within normal range of most instruments. The harmony parts are in a slightly lower register, pefect for fiddle, mandolin and anyone who can reach the G below middle C.
I'll be bringing sheet music hand-outs for the tunes and harmonies to the workshop, including parts for B flat clarinet - so just bring yourself, a music stand and your instrument(s)!
Based on harmonies from my new book. (Copies will be available at the festival.)
